Engineer Your Edge: TTSPORT High-Carbon 2-Piece Brake Rotors

Stop settling for stock limitations. Our custom-machined two-piece brake rotors are engineered for enthusiasts who demand superior thermal capacity, reduced weight, and unflinching durability. Built from heat-treated, high-carbon steel, these rotors provide the confidence you need for spirited street driving, mountain runs, or weekend track days.

Each rotor is a direct-fit friction ring replacement designed to integrate seamlessly with your existing multi-piston calipers or our billet aluminum rotor hats. We deliver a pristine, rust-free product thanks to a temporary Dacromet coating, ensuring your upgrade is perfect right out of the box.

Core Performance Engineering

⚙️ Knurled Surface for Rapid Bed-In

  • Pre-Break-In Treatment: The precision-knurled (cross-hatch) surface serves as a pre-break-in mechanism. It gently scuffs the new brake pad face, dramatically shortening the time and distance required to establish a perfect, uniform friction layer between the pad and rotor.
  • Peak Performance, Faster: Achieve optimal bite and a consistent pedal feel almost immediately after installation, with a significantly reduced bedding-in procedure.

🔥 Superior Heat Management & Fade Resistance

  • High-Carbon Steel Construction: Our GC-2755 high-carbon alloy offers exceptional thermal stability, drastically reducing the risk of brake fade and rotor warping under high-stress conditions.
  • Two-Piece Design Advantage: Pairing this iron ring with a lightweight aluminum hat (sold separately) allows for superior heat dissipation, preventing heat from transferring to your hubs and bearings.

🏁 Choose Your Performance Edge: Rotor Patterns Explained

Each pattern offers a unique balance of performance characteristics. Here’s a detailed look at the pros and cons to help you choose the right setup for your driving style.

Cross-Drilled

  • Pros: Best for dissipating heat, especially during initial braking. Excellent performance in wet conditions as the holes vent water and steam. Delivers a strong initial bite and has a classic, high-performance look.
  • Cons: Under extreme, repetitive track conditions, stress cracks can potentially form around the holes over time. Not typically recommended for dedicated, endurance race cars.

Curved Slotted

  • Pros: Continuously cleans the brake pad surface by wiping away gas, water, and debris. This prevents pad glazing and ensures a fresh, consistent contact patch. More structurally robust than a drilled rotor.
  • Cons: Can produce a faint whirring noise during braking, which is normal for slotted designs. Offers slightly less initial cooling capacity compared to a cross-drilled rotor.

GrainSlot

  • Pros: A modern, hybrid design that balances the benefits of slots and holes. Effectively vents gases and debris for consistent performance while maintaining high structural integrity. Often quieter than traditional slotted rotors.
  • Cons: As a balanced design, it may not offer the absolute maximum heat dissipation of a drilled rotor or the aggressive cleaning action of a full-face slot.

WaveSlot

  • Pros: Considered the ultimate design for track and race applications. The wave-hook pattern creates more leading edges for initial bite than straight slots and offers the highest resistance to stress cracking under extreme thermal cycling.
  • Cons: The most aggressive design, which may lead to slightly faster pad wear compared to other styles. The performance benefits are most apparent in track environments and may be overkill for daily street driving.

🛡️ Protected for Pristine Installation

  • Sacrificial Dacromet Coating: A thin, golden anti-corrosion layer is applied for protection during shipping and storage. This coating wears off the braking surface during the initial bed-in process, which is normal and expected, leaving the non-contact areas protected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did the gold coating wear off my new rotors?
This is completely normal. The golden Dacromet is a temporary, anti-corrosion coating designed to protect the rotors during shipping and storage, ensuring they arrive in pristine condition. It is intended to wear off the brake pad contact area during the first few stops. The non-contact surfaces, like the internal vanes, will remain coated and protected from rust.
What are the real benefits of a two-piece rotor?
There are two main advantages. First, they are significantly lighter than solid iron rotors. This reduces unsprung weight, which allows your suspension to perform better for improved handling. Second, the aluminum hat dissipates heat more effectively, preventing it from transferring to your hub and bearings and improving the rotor's resistance to warping.
Which rotor pattern is right for me?
It depends on your primary use:
  • Cross-Drilled: Best for street performance with an emphasis on cooling and wet-weather braking.
  • Curved Slotted: Great for aggressive street or light track use, offering excellent pad cleaning for consistent bite.
  • GrainSlot/WaveSlot: Ideal for heavy track use or drivers who prioritize durability and crack resistance under extreme heat, while still offering the benefits of a slotted rotor.
Does this price include one rotor or a pair?
This product is sold as a pair (two friction rings).
Does this include the center part (the hat)?
No, this product is for the outer iron brake rotors (the friction rings) only. For a complete two-piece rotor assembly, you must purchase a compatible rotor hat separately. We highly recommend using our precision-engineered hats for guaranteed fitment.

Ordering Your Perfect Rotors: Step-by-Step

The right rotors are the foundation of your brake setup. Here’s how we make sure you get the perfect set for your car and your driving style.

  1. Give Us Your Specs: We need the vitals on your ride: make, model, year, VIN, and your wheel size/clearance. Most importantly, tell us how you plan to use them—daily driving, track days, or something in between.
  2. We Recommend the Right Style: Based on your info, we'll suggest the best rotor type for you: slotted for better bite and heat dissipation, drilled for looks and wet weather performance, plain for smooth daily use, or a two-piece for serious weight savings and track duty.
  3. You Finalize Your Choice: You confirm the rotor style, diameter, and preferred anti-corrosion coating. Once you give the nod, you can place your order securely through our site.
  4. We Machine & Balance Them: This is where the magic happens. Your rotors are precision-machined to your specs, perfectly balanced to eliminate vibration, and expertly coated.
  5. We Pack 'Em Up & Ship 'Em Out: We treat them like treasure. Your new rotors are carefully wrapped, boxed up securely, and sent on their way. You'll get a tracking number the moment they ship.

The Pro's Guide to Rotor Install & Care

Great rotors are only half the battle. A perfect installation is what unlocks their full potential and ensures your safety. Don't cut corners here.

1. The Install: Getting It Right from the Start

  1. Always Use New Pads: We can't stress this enough. Installing new rotors with old, worn pads is a recipe for poor performance and uneven wear. For the best results, always pair new rotors with a fresh set of pads.
  2. Clean the Hub Surface Religiously: Before mounting the new rotor, use a wire brush and brake cleaner to get the wheel hub surface perfectly clean and free of rust. This is the #1 cause of brake vibration. A rusty or dirty hub will prevent the rotor from sitting flat, leading to a wobble you'll feel in the pedal and steering wheel. Don't skip this.
  3. Clean the New Rotor: Your new rotors come with a light anti-rust coating. Wipe down the friction surfaces (both sides) with a good brake cleaner to remove this oil before installation.
  4. The Bed-In Is Not Optional: Just like with pads, new rotors need a break-in period. For the first 300-600 miles (approx. 500-1,000 km), avoid hard, last-minute braking. Easy, progressive stops will properly mate the new pads to the rotors. Slamming on the brakes right out of the box can cause warping and deep scoring.

2. On the Road: Keeping Your Rotors Healthy

  1. Don't Shock Hot Rotors: After a spirited drive or a track session, your rotors are blazing hot. Never, ever spray them with cold water from a hose or drive through a deep puddle. The sudden temperature shock can crack or warp the metal. Let them air cool.
  2. Normal Rust vs. Real Problems: A thin layer of surface rust after washing your car or a rainy day is totally normal and will wipe off the first time you brake. However, if you see deep grooves or pitting, get it checked out. It could mean a rock or debris is stuck between the pad and rotor.

3. Know When to Replace Them

Rotors are a wear item, just like pads. They get thinner over time. Most rotors have wear indicators—like small dimples or faded grooves. Once those indicators are gone, or if you can feel a significant "lip" on the outer edge of the rotor, it's time for a new set. Don't risk your safety by running them too thin.
